Why Did You Decide to Become a Physician Assistant?
Morgan had always been drawn to medicine and also had a deep passion for helping others and building meaningful relationships. She worked as a medical scribe, earned her CNA, and shadowed in various clinics to gain hands-on experience.
In 2016, a close friend was diagnosed with cancer. They would talk about her hospital experiences, and one time she shared how profoundly the medical staff impacted her during such a challenging time. Hearing her gratitude and the difference each caregiver made was incredibly moving. This solidified her calling: Morgan knew she wanted to be a healthcare provider who could make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.
Where Did You Study?
Morgan attended the University of Nebraska- Lincoln and College of St. Mary, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Minor in Spanish. She went on to earn her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at the College of St. Mary, where she graduated summa cum laude in the top 10% of her class. Today, she is NCCPA certified and a member of the Academy of Physician Assistants and the Arizona State Association of Physician Assistants.
Morgan went on to gain extensive experience working in clinics and hospitals across Nebraska, Iowa, and Arizona. After beginning her career in dermatology/oncology, primarily providing care to First Responders throughout Arizona, she developed a strong passion for sleep health inspired by multiple family members who have been affected by sleep disorders. Since then, she has been dedicated to helping patients achieve optimal sleep and treats each person with the same care and attention she would give her own family.
Outside of the Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Morgan and her husband love golfing, hiking, playing sand volleyball, and traveling. They try to bring their pup along for the fun whenever possible. They also make it a point to visit family back home in Nebraska and always try to soak up extra cuddles with their adorable nephew.
Fun fact: Morgan played rugby for the University of Nebraska–Lincoln for one year. She may not look like the typical rugby player, but if it involves sports or competition, she’s there!
